Calgary Painter Fun and Function owner, Pete Palffy is perhaps one of the most eclectic person you’ll ever meet. An immigrant from Eastern Europe, he arrived in Canada in 1988 as a car mechanic with $200 and little knowledge of the English language. Since then, he worked and lived in Toronto, Vancouver, California and the Caribbean and settled in Calgary in 2002. An accomplished photographer, a cigar aficionado, an audiophile and has a passion for cars and motorcycles. He also has a weak spot for collectable and vintage wrist watches. He is a licensed technician with factory training from Mercedes-Benz and BMW and he holds a bachelor’s degree. His carrier includes a large variety of jobs in a variety of fields, he has been working with cars, with polymer technology research, fuel cell research, marine and watercraft hull design and construction, just to mention a few. In 1999 while living in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, he got involved with a small group of Canadian developers and started working on homes. His interest in home building soon turned into a passion and he never looked back since.

Today Pete is doing what he loves the most, making homes beautiful. He has a good understanding of the problem spots of this industry and his main focus is to be better than the others. With Pete, what you see is what you get, he says things how they are. This company is the product of his straight forward mentality, positive attitude and his love for his work.
